As CEO of Winkworth Franchising since 2005 I have overseen the admission of the company to the London Stock Exchange and more than doubled the franchisee network to some 100 offices. Driven by the belief that our business is not about revolution but about constant evolution, I have implemented many new initiatives to ensure our success in a highly competitive industry full of many talented leaders. This evolution has always focussed first and foremost on acquiring the right people for the job and then giving them our full support.
It is important that we continue to push forward as a company and my sustainable aim is to grow the network by around five new offices a year. To accelerate this growth and optimise the strength of our network, I have also sought to launch new central businesses leveraging off our footprint and brand, adding value to the individual offices and their proposition to both existing and potential clients.
These include a China desk, now with an established marketing network across China aimed at assisting HNW buyers in their search for a UK property, and a corporate services department to help provide one point of contact for international clients relocating to London. I have also launched a Commercial, Development and Investment business, extending Winkworth’s reach into the professional property investment community and feeding into our Winkworth new homes business, working with offices to help launch new developments.
To support our teams we continue to focus on knowledge and regulation, and provide help with recruitment, to ensure we attract the best people and that these people can provide the best advice to their clients.
All these initiatives are supported by an evolving digital plan with the website at its heart. There are two parts to my digital strategy: the first is external and focuses on ensuring that we market ourselves intelligently, not only to attract more clients to the network but also to keep them connected and make it easy for them to do business with us. The second is to ensure we use practical proptech to support our agents and connect our business more closely, enabling us to provide a better service and help our agents to work more efficiently.
