Supplier spotlight summary
All of the speakers agreed on the how important it is to move with the times in order to be successful and keep up with competition in this industry. Long gone are the days of reading a 500 page document - the need for strong, bold, imaginative communication is vital for the marketing makeup of any company and this falls in the form of video content.
A potential client will follow a company on digital platforms for up to 6 months before reaching out and picking up the phone. In this time they will build a relationship with the brand and trust will form.
Yet despite its growing prevalence, many companies still seem to shy away from this powerful marketing tool for different reasons…
- They don’t believe they have the budget to create ongoing videos
- They don’t have any ideas on what to produce.
- They don’t have the necessary equipment and/or time.
- They are camera shy and lack confidence.
Fortunately, we have Chris and Matt who have given us some wonderful tips, tricks and advice.
What are the benefits of creating videos?
Videos promote brand awareness, improve online presence, humanise a brand, boost engagement, build trust and can be inexpensive as well as easy to produce. It is Less labour intensive as you can make contact with a large audience quickly and conveniently - no need for individual phone calls or emails. However the ultimate benefit of video marketing for businesses is generating sales.
What crucial information do you need to remember?
- Store all your videos in one place by creating a YouTube channel – this will make it easier for your audience to be able to view and access them
- Authenticity sells – always be yourself
- Use a catchy headline to capture an audience
- Keep videos short and snappy
Here are 3 top tips for making a video
1. Use facial flaps – these aren’t as gross as the name sounds! They are post-it notes which you stick in front of your camera so that you cannot see yourself.
- This will help you feel less self-conscious and give you confidence
- You can write notes on these so there is no need to memorise everything
2. Keep eye contact with the camera – to do this you can stick a piece of blue tack next to the lens
3. Do not talk about yourself
- Grab the audience by firing out instant facts, just like a news headline
- You can then give more detail
- Finish with something emotive - For example… I love this property and could just picture myself opening a bottle of prosecco in the evening on this patio
