Here is a thought leadership article from Dataloft Inform
How do home movers choose their estate agent?
It’s the ultimate question for an estate agent. What can you do to have the best chance possible of being chosen to sell or let somebody’s home?
The team at Dataloft has analysed this year’s Property Academy Home Moving Trends Survey and has the answers. A staggering 30,000 home movers and landlords had their say about the housing market and the findings are invaluable.
What was covered in the survey?
The topics covered are wide ranging, including understanding the changing needs of tenants and landlords, knowing what impresses a vendor when choosing an agent, housing preferences in terms of sustainability, social change (what do people really want from the places they choose to live), the impact of fee levels when choosing an agent, how people now find their next property (the rise of agent websites) and the challenges that the new homes market faces.
And what were the top three reasons for choosing an agent?
- 77% said ‘I felt confident in their ability to market my property’
- 71% said ‘They had good market knowledge’
- 67% said ‘I liked and trusted them’
Dataloft will be sharing the findings of the survey with their Dataloft Inform subscribers over the next few months. For those without a subscription, we would highly recommend watching the video below, where Dataloft’s Sandra Jones highlights the key findings and provides some practical ideas about how an estate agent can act on them.
