Reliable CRM that is improving all the time and has helped our business GROW
We joined Alto in 2020. A caveat is that we are a letting agents that doesn't do sales, so this review isn't really relevant if you are purely a sales agent. We were previously on a CRM which wasn't cloud-based so it was a total nightmare. Alto has helped modernise our business; we couldn't have coped without it during the covid lockdowns. Being totally on the cloud, meant our team could log on from any device in any location which was a vast improvement from our previous CRM. Alto has so much functionality - we run our lettings, property management, and accounts all through the software. It has in-built e-signing for no extra cost, PropertyFile which is landlord and tenant log-ins for no extra cost. They have also recently launched Alto mobile which allows you to view all of your appointments from your mobile. This is useful but only in its first release and I'm sure will be improved further soon.
My biggest gripe about Alto was the lack of integrations but that is changing. They are quickly building integrations and they work very well too. We use their integration with Vouch so we can start the referencing process with a click on one button in Alto. Their integration with TDS also works very well, deposits are registered automatically when the tenancy starts. I'm hoping their list of integrations grows quickly. I'd personally like integrations with our inventory software, enquiry management software (IRE) and photo editing provider (DCTR). They already have integrations with SmartSearch, Goodlord and Focal Agent (but we don't use them).
Changing CRM is always painful but I've got to say Alto were great at migrating our data.
Regarding support, there are some really great people at the company but sadly response times are mixed. You can sometimes get a response within hours but sometimes it takes longer than a week. This is definitely their area to improve!
I've also got to say that Alto are improving. They are now listening to their customers. I am part of a community programme where I answer surveys to help shape the future of the software and have been involved in testing and giving feedback on new features.
I would highly recommend Alto and would advise getting a demo at least, they have really enabled our business to grow in the last few years.
Generally easy to use and user friendly
We switched to Alto from Vebra and CFP and it has been much more user friendly than our previous software. When we switched over, it was in March 2020, when COVID hit, so everything had to be completed remotely which did cause some issues, but the support team, particularly Andy in the training team and Jo, Emma and Alf in the accounts team were fantastic. It does seem more difficult to get through to support these days due to some internal changes but I'm assured these are just teething problems.
There is constantly work being done behind the scenes to improve the software and it's great to see the investment going in to it.
Jupix and Alto are both stuck in ancient times, full of gimmicks and terrible customer support.
Alto and Jupix by fast the worst choice. They charge for data export because they feel like it. Argumentative sales reps who talk down to you because you point out their mistakes and expose their lies. As for the two softwares, very ancient and back dated, doesn't have any ACTUALLY beneficial integrations. Forced to leave them because after 8 years of being with them they've not made any improvements at all. Alto makes changes that are a gimmick. Not software thinking forward for what will actually help agents to progress. Loops is the best alternative because it was made by the last Jupix owner. Rex and Street are also another great alternatives which actually offer developments which help agents make progress.
